A bit of History

Tasting the Amazon means delving into a good part of the history and culture of Benin:

First in the history of Danhomey : it was during the reign of His Majesty King Guézo that the oil palm arrived and developed.

Then in cultivation, at the birth of a child, an oil palm had to be planted, under which its umbilical cord was buried.

The traditional liqueur of palm oil wine ( Sodabi ) is also essential during family and cultural ceremonies in Benin .
